There are times in your life when you need to call in the A team, you realise you need help and I’m currently going through one of them. Four months after a nasty accident and I’m still a sad sight – scarred, limping and wincing in pain.  I’m desperate to get moving again but have absolutely no idea where to start.  The extensive physio is helping to slowly restore my mobility but I want more than this – I need to fulfil a vow I made to myself that I was going to come back ‘ Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’ ( a la Draft Punk!) than ever before.
There are no guarantees in life and this it what makes it incredibly exciting and yet so terrifyingly uncertain. The one thing that is sure though is that the healthier and fitter we are, the quicker and easier it is to bounce back from all the challenges which life throws our way. Â We sometimes forgot too the link between strong bodies and strong minds – being as fit as possible helps to support your mental health. Â The next time life throws me a curve ball, I am going to catch it and then sling it straight back to where it came from as hard as possible!
My confidence has plummeted during my months of relative immobility, and I have lost my perspective on what I can realistically do. Â I have to work with someone who can push my body to its natural limits, but not over them. I need someone who will instinctively see the exercises necessary to rebuild and restore my battered limb. I want to see and feel my fitness and strength improving on a daily basis. Â Most importantly I want someone to put a smile on my face and make the entire process fun, because believe me, I really need some laughter and jokes in my life after these bleak months.
There are times in your life when you simply have to call in the A team and this is why I need Marcus. Â Any one want to bet on how long it will take for him to get me running a 10k….?!
